my lil bro is hitched

Our vacation home this year was AMAZING... friends, family, family, friends, more family.... how much better could it get! Obviously the highlight of our vacation home was my lil bro's wedding!!! Jan 2, 2010! I said to Greg tonight when I saw the light hitting the snow on the ground that it looked like there were diamonds everywhere... and that's exactly how I would describe Steph's and Ry's wedding. Everything was magical. It was so perfect that my cousins nicknamed Ry and Steph- "Ken and Barbie"! That's not to be insulting at all... it's just that is what it was like. A HANDSOME man with a GORGEOUS girl!

The key to this wedding decor was of course SNOW!!! Steph and Mom prayed for snow... and boy did we get it. From about Wednesday before the wedding til the wedding day it just did not stop snowing. The magical sleigh rides had to be canceled because there was simply too much snow... who would have thought!!! (..abundantly above all we ask or think!!!)

So on the emotional side, I really am convinced I have issues when it comes to dealing with my emotions! What bridesmaid CRIES going down the isle??? Well, this one does! As soon as I realized WHO I was supporting walking down that isle... I felt so proud... and hence the tears. PROUD of my baby brother for finding the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with. PROUD of the man he has become and how AMAZINGLY he will treat Steph. And PROUD of my family! We have spent almost 10 years apart from each other... from me going to college, to working in Ajax, to getting married and moving away... yet he still is one of my best friends.

Anyway, so the tears were real ...but they were tears of remembering all we had been through and all we will go through. I know Ry and Steph will forever keep family a vital part of their relationship and I can't wait to see what God does in their lives.
